Silver Agriope

Silver Argiope, female (Argiope argentata) Taken March 13, 2012 on the Golden Orb Trail in the Long Key State Park (Mile Marker 67.5). Signs at the trail head explains that the trail is named after the Golden Orb Weaver but this was not one of them. Silver Argiope may be found from the most southern states down to Argentina. Female often eats the much smaller male.

The bee was feeding  on weeds a few feet away from Liggets Creek and Layton Rd.. It will not be there in 2011

since the place is now completely changed and there will be nothing to feed on. 

Great Egret in flight. May 2010. Taken at the  Brigantine National Wildlife Refuge, NJ. North of Florida, Brigantine NWR is the best place to photograph shore birds on East Coast. SONY A550, Minolta 300mm f2.8 at f4, 1/4000s ISO 200.

Taken March 17, 2010 with DSLR A550 Sony camera, Minolta 300mm f2.8 lens set at f5.6, 1/1000s, ISO 200 handheld, image stabilization on.  . 45AX is a female banded in 2008 at Īle-aux-oies, Quebec, Canada.
