Cotton Creek Trail, Grand Escalante-Staircase National MonumentHi,

I have been taking pictures for over 30 years. Many cameras passed through may hands (Ami 2, Zenith E, Asashi Pentax, Minolta X-700, Maxxum 8000i, Maxxum 2xi, Maxxum 800si, and recently digital SLR, Sony A100 and A550.) However,  it were not the camera bodies or even camera lenses that drove my interest in photography. It was the subject, namely NATURE. I have always been  fascinated by the natural world and drawn to it. It felt like I owe it to HER to take the best possible pictures. My photography is just a tool that enables me to share my nature encounters with friends and family.

In 1989 I joined the Northeast Photography Club and in 1990 the Photographic Society of America. The members of both organizations had a profound impact on my photographic development. But perhaps the greatest influence was due to the John Shaw's books. His "Closeups in Nature" copyrighted 1987 remains a classic in professional field nature photography. I studied and followed his advice religiously for many years.

The results followed. In 1995 I became the Photographer of the Year in the Northeast Photography Club. Soon after that my pictures were published in a National Geographic calendar and the NG Traveler Magazine. Other pictures received awards from "Focus on Your World", United Nations Environmental Programme Photographic Competition and Carnegie Museum of Natural History. I was published by Birder's World, Photographic Society of America Journal,  Happenings, Scranton Times, Abington Journal, Campaign for America's Wilderness, Architectural Ornament in Scranton Catalog, Apogee Photo and Photo.net.
